This hanging flower frame was created from wooden stocks, sawdust, screws, pins, and other pieces from firearms processed at the May 2, 2026 Safe and Anonymous Disposal Event held at Stilwell United Methodist Church.
The larger stock forms the center of the piece, while the smaller parts are arranged above it in a kind of scattered bloom. The sawdust around the border came from cutting apart the stocks.
The words, “They will beat their swords into plowshares,” (from Isaiah 2:4) point to the hope behind Guns to Gardens Kansas City: that unwanted, unusable, or unsafe firearms can be dismantled and transformed into something new.
