The pieces are arranged in the shape of a flower, with a cut trigger at the center and pieces of wooden stocks forming the petals. The sawdust around the top came from cutting apart the stocks. The words, “nor will they train for war,” (from Isaiah 2:4) point to the hope behind Guns to Gardens Kansas City: that tools of harm can be dismantled, reshaped, and used to help us imagine something more peaceful.
This hanging flower bloom was created from wooden stocks, sawdust, screws, pins, and other pieces from firearms processed at the May 2, 2026 Safe and Anonymous Disposal Event held at Stilwell United Methodist Church.
